BLOOM will be on display at the McColl Center each night of the festival from 8pm-10pm. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, please join Rebecca Lipps and Caleb Dickerson for an interactive component.

BLOOM is an interactive projection installation with community effort to beautify businesses in the city of Charlotte. A live projection-mapped video illuminates the McColl Center all seventeen nights of the festival. Beginning at dusk, you become the visual conductor of digital blooming flowers by pressing buttons on a screen to add endless effects to the projection.

On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, Everyone is welcome to join us for a community planting of spring gladiolus bulbs in hand-built flower beds. The movement of your hands planting will trigger an immediate blooming of a giant digital flower on the McColl Center. Come make an impact and have fun with this multi-experiential work that will continue beyond Charlotte SHOUT!

Look out for the flower bed you planted blooming in its new home around Charlotte.

NEW AT SHOUT! POP! is an interactive installation that is a celebration of light, music, motion, and popular culture. Set them free by calling out to them, talking to them, or even by singing. As you encourage one to show itself, watch the monolith get brighter and brighter until it opens to release a creature who’s ready to put on a show. Don't miss this installation on Levine Avenue of the Arts starting March 31st until April 16th.

Over two weekends, come experience local and international artists from a variety of backgrounds, collaborating to bring the blank spaces of Luminous Lane to life. Giant Easter Egg preview! @superdaftbros started this project by 3D Scanning their giant fiberglass egg, then designed an intricate hexagonal shell structure to surround it. 78 unique hexagons were designed to reflect some of the @superdaftbros' favorite parts of Charlotte. Each one was 3D printed, spray painted silver, and fitted with dozens of colorful LEDs. The effect is a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of color. The Charlotte StrEATs Neighborhood Cook-off, curated by Plaid Penguin, will return this year as part of Charlotte SHOUT! Eight local chefs will represent their hood and go head-to-head in a cook-off to win the title of the StrEATs Neighborhood Champion The final four will go on to cook their dishes live at the Charlotte StrEATs Festival on Sunday, April 16th. From there, a panel of judges will name two chefs who will go on to the finale which will be emceed by world-renowned chef Alex Guarnaschelli MEET THE COMPETITORS: 1.
