ZONE 7

Click here for a full map of SHOUT!

Charlotte SHOUT! surrounds you with inspiring art at every turn. But Zone 7, focused on the VAPA Center, invites you to dive in and make art yourself.

Every day, VAPA is home to hundreds of makers, creators and performers, ranging from improv comics to illustrators, photographers and fiber artists. During the 17 days of SHOUT!, you can help paint a mural, create a work of art to take home, go on an indoor scavenger hunt and more.

For families, VAPA is an ideal oasis for kids, parents and caregivers. When you’re in VAPA, you’re not only encouraged to touch the art … you’re invited to make it, too. (And, it’s air conditioned with public bathrooms.)

CAN’T MISS ACTIVITIES

Zone 7 is an active space for creative activities of all mediums inside of the VAPA Center. Here is what to expect.

Starting Saturday, March 30, creatives, visitors and patrons are invited to join in on the fun and contribute to a new, interactive mural inside VAPA’s multipurpose room. Selected artists are each taking a letter in the word “COMMUNITY.” They’ll start it and you will help fill the mural in.

When you visit VAPA, go on a three floor scavenger hunt to find art and complete activities inside of VAPA. Explore the building and meet the creatives in residence. This is a perfect way for kids to get excited about art!

This immersive painting experience, hosted on Saturday, March 30 at 1 PM, offers an interactive experience working side-by-side with abstract artists. Participants wear head-to-toe jumpsuits and use their entire bodies to paint their own masterpiece.

Find a full schedule of SHOUT! events here. [PRO TIP: Make sure to select the activity category and venue.]
