Welcome to the Temple of Change. Designed to celebrate and honor the changes our world has experienced in the past two years, the Temple is a refuge and non-denominational sacred space. Enter the Temple to acknowledge the one constant: Change.

Look at everything around you: the bamboo, the flowers, the grasses and foliage- they are changing as you stand here. By the time SHOUT is over they will look different, just as you will be a different person tomorrow than you are today.

Contemplate what change has meant to you these past two years. Acknowledge that change by writing on the walls, or bring photos, mementos or remembrances to leave at the shrine, or both. Say goodbye to those you have lost or welcome new friends or family. Honor a special moment in your life; honor a person who has meant something to you. Read the other acknowledgements and look at the mementos. Reflect on all the gifts that life brings. Share those reflections with the Temple.

Please honor this Temple by speaking quietly or not at all; please leave words or mementos that are respectful; do not leave trash or deface it. Thank you.

About the Artists

Danielle Lotito is a Floral Designer and Installation Artist based in Charlotte.

Dorne Pentes is a Charlotte Artist and Filmmaker, and member of the Burning Man Community.

The Temple of Change was inspired by the many Temples Dorne has participated in at Burning Man events since 205.
