SHOUT! Streateries celebrates the creativity of Charlotte’s architecture and design community through a series of innovative dining spaces
DateApr 1 - 17, 2022
Creating destinations for people to eat, drink, and socialize within the public realm is key to growing Charlotte’s ‘cafe culture’ and ensuring an active urban fabric. Streateries (outdoor dining areas served by nearby eateries) are a valuable placemaking tool, working to support this goal of vibrancy.
Five local design teams have designed and constructed uniquely themed streateries within the parking lane along Tryon Street. These reclaimed spaces now serve as temporary outdoor areas for people to eat, drink, rest, socialize – live the sidewalk café lifestyle.
Participating Teams: ColeJenest & Stone · Depeña Studio · LandDesign · Little Diversified Architectural Consulting and WARCO Construction Inc. · Neighboring Concepts
Location: Parking lanes along the west side of Tryon Street, from 4th Street to 5th Street
