Event Details

The Lavagem Celebration shares, teaches, documents and archives Brazilian Indigenous (Caboclos) and Black arts culture with Charlotte communities, while cultivating a space for fellowship with dance and music workshops, cultural performances, a lavagem procession, and panel discussions. Each day offers a distinct schedule of activities. All events are free, but registration is required for classes. All ages welcome! No dance training required.

5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sign in, registration

6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Symbology of the Orixá Dance workshop

7:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. LAVAGEM! Procession to The Green

7:45 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. live performances and capoeira roda at The Green
