MENIA

What started as a hobby and a dream for a little girl from Jackson, MS quickly transformed into a vision with passion and purpose for Destiny Paige Reeves. Paige, as she is called by family and friends, began her path stitch by stitch, when she met a local seamstress at the age of 14. Ms. Janie was devoted in teaching her the basics of sewing and inspired her to continue learning to reach her full potential. As a gifted seamstress, Paige donned herself in custom-made wardrobes accented with chunky or tall heels as she strutted the halls of her highschool. Likewise, she was a stylist for many of her peers and would design fashion-forward prom dresses for her friends and sister. With continued aspirations of owning a fashion company, she attended Alabama A&M University to study Fashion Design in 2015. While there, she honed her craft and became involved as a leader and mentor serving as Miss Junior and Miss Ward Modeling Troop. As a student, she maximized her ability to network through mentorship and understudying celebrity designers and tailors in Huntsville, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia. Paige credits her experiences as preparation when the opportunity arose to tailor for singer-songwriter Ashanti at the 2018 Espy Awards. To build her business acumen, she led as co-owner of an on-campus alteration’s business and worked in top-producing fast fashion retail companies such as Forever 21 and globally renowned luxury retail brands such as David’s Bridal, Nordstrom, Kate Spade and Tory Burch. Since graduating in 2019, Paige is currently a full-time creative operating Menia Paige LLC offering services as a designer, wardrobe consultant, tailor, creative director and set designer. She now channels her subtle yet eclectic alter ego, Menia, which pays tribute to her late grandmother Wilhelmenia G. Reeves.
