Voices From The Past is returning in 2023 as a part of Charlotte SHOUT! Come take a "spirited stroll" through Charlotte’s historic cemeteries and interact with over 20 portrayers as they tell the stories of the men and women who helped make Charlotte what it is today.

The event will feature food trucks, live music from the Charlotte Folk Society, and complimentary golf cart rides from Carolina Golf Cars for our visitors that may have difficulty walking around the cemetery. The event will also feature the Charlotte Fire Department’s restored Neptune fire pump truck, circa 1860, and cars from the Queen City Model A Club.

This event is put on by the Historic Elmwood/Pinewood Cemetery Inc. It is free and open to the public. It is both family-friendly and pet-friendly. Whether you are a native of Charlotte or new to the city, this is a fun event for all to learn more about our history while helping to preserve it.

NEW AT SHOUT! POP! is an interactive installation that is a celebration of light, music, motion, and popular culture. Set them free by calling out to them, talking to them, or even by singing. As you encourage one to show itself, watch the monolith get brighter and brighter until it opens to release a creature who’s ready to put on a show. Don't miss this installation on Levine Avenue of the Arts starting March 31st until April 16th.

Over two weekends, come experience local and international artists from a variety of backgrounds, collaborating to bring the blank spaces of Luminous Lane to life. SNEAK PEEK: McColl Center will be the site of BLOOM, an interactive installation by @rebeccalippsart! 🌷🌸🌺🌼 You become the visual conductor of the projection 📽by changing the image with your movement and by pressing buttons. Rebecca is working with @waffleiciousart under their new collaboration @_hex.visuals to create this amazing experience for you! See BLOOM come to life every night during SHOUT! from 8pm-10 pm. Giant Easter Egg preview! @superdaftbros started this project by 3D Scanning their giant fiberglass egg, then designed an intricate hexagonal shell structure to surround it. 78 unique hexagons were designed to reflect some of the @superdaftbros' favorite parts of Charlotte. Each one was 3D printed, spray painted silver, and fitted with dozens of colorful LEDs. The effect is a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of color. The Charlotte StrEATs Neighborhood Cook-off, curated by Plaid Penguin, will return this year as part of Charlotte SHOUT! Eight local chefs will represent their hood and go head-to-head in a cook-off to win the title of the StrEATs Neighborhood Champion The final four will go on to cook their dishes live at the Charlotte StrEATs Festival on Sunday, April 16th. From there, a panel of judges will name two chefs who will go on to the finale which will be emceed by world-renowned chef Alex Guarnaschelli MEET THE COMPETITORS: 1.
