Veda Saravanan

Based in Charlotte for nearly 3 decades, Veda is connected in the art community. She is primarily involved in creations of unique masks depicting different facial expressions of humans. Predominantly her art has been painting abstract architecture and stylized faces. Her style of mask making has been inspired by her own collection of masks she gathered while traveling the world. It also stems from her interest in mythology that exists heavily in her culture. Masks are faces of traditions.

She started mask making many years ago with her own self-taught and experimental process. Majority of her masks are made of papier-mâché and sometimes epoxy clay to finish her products.

Currently her masks can be seen all over Charlotte area billboards since she is a recipient of ArtPop Class of 2022.
