Tara Spil is based in Charlotte, NC and working at Hart Witzen Gallery and Studios. After receiving her Bachelors in Fine Art from Western Carolina University, she developed a career in nonprofit and a passion for community. Her abstract works are data-driven and about the human experience. Using painting as a way to bring awareness to a variety of social justice issues, she creates visual representations of data science and numbers.
During 2021 and 2022, Tara’s work has been supported by the Arts and Science Council, the North Carolina Arts Council, and the Blumenthal Endowment. Her current studio work explores interactive paintings that include community data.
