Randy Pender

I am a portrait and figurative artist living in Charlotte, North Carolina.

I was the typical creative kid growing up in a small South Carolina town with limited access to artistic resources. I always had a love for photography, drawing, and painting but never studied those seriously. Those artistic talents were considered ‘hobbies’, not career choices! I managed to find a creative niche and went on to be a media arts major at the University of South Carolina. But, I found myself with no single focus in school. After University, I pursued jobs that supported my artistic interests but were not specific to painting. Before I realized it, a summer job as a window dresser turned into a full-fledged career as a retail executive. Now after 30 years, I have turned my attention to full-time painting and my creative passions.
