I am a sculptor/Installer and visual storyteller based in Charlotte, NC. I received my Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in 2020 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte whereas as a sculpting student I won the sculpture area award and junior of the year. Since graduating I have had work showcased In the Mint Museum, Goodyear Arts, and Nine Eighteen Nine Gallery and many exhibitions, receiving raving reviews and most importantly, spurring conversation that promotes communal growth and change.
My sculptures facilitate intercultural exchange and understanding that defies social, economic, and political norms. I do this by molding wood and uncommon mediums, such as human hair, creating interactive installations that narrate experiences and perspectives that have largely been muted in public discourse. I am revolutionizing what can be done through the medium of sculpture by designing experiences that open eyes and hearts to what it truly means and will take for us all to be united, understood, and permitted to be; fully.
