Melissa is an Encaustic and mixed media artist from NC who studied art and design at Appalachian State University. Melissa worked professionally as a designer and art director before playing with fire full-time. She's always exploring multiple themes in her work, ranging from concepts of waste, sustainability, and mindfulness. Newer works focus on the connection of color, repetition, and space. Her aim is to create graphic ecosystems which still hold space for calmness and reflection. These themes expressed in her graphic style are reflective of the composition and juxtapositions of our own personal relationships and being mindful in the ever-evolving world where we all exist. She lives in Charlotte with her partner and two Australian Shepherds. She likes to keep her hands messy and her heart curious.
