I have always wanted to be an artist. I was born to create. I viewed life differently from my family and friends, I still do. I was amazed at what artist could create and I wanted to do what they did, create. I was gifted my drafting table in my teens and still have it in my studio, it is one of my prized possessions. I attended the University of South Carolina graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree determined to be an artist. Soon after graduation, I lost my way and left my artistic endevors for stability in the corporate world. Fast forward to raising two young men, I re-dedicated my life to fufilling my dream of being a professional artist. I work in many different media including acrylic and watercolor paints, glass, digital art and fibers. In recent years I have been painting interior and exterior murals, comission pet portraits, illustrations, and creating patterns.
I started my design business Cotton and Wood Designs in the wake of the pandemic as a way to fufill my dream of sharing my art with the world. Cotton and Wood, represents my surface pattern designs, placement prints, and illustrations. You can find my work sold at both a Society6 and Spoonflower. I am currently working on illustrating my first children’s book.
