Cutting edge, innovative, fresh, modern...These are not often the terms to define modern gospel or inspirational music, but they have become commonplace in describing one of Chicago's up and coming stars. Mix in words like: powerful, inspiring, motivating, and compelling and you have the music of multi-talented gospel artist, Brian Pettis.

Brian Pettis is a musician, songwriter, and producer. Brian released his first full length solo piano album entitles "Brilliant Speaks" in February 2012. Born into a musical family, Pettis was playing drums at the age of 3. By the age of 7, Pettis was already an experienced and talented pianist who served at his local church. With much success at such a young age, Pettis saw the road being paved for him. Brian continued his musical journey by studying Jazz at Lincoln Park High School and eventually enrolling in Columbia College of Chicago's prestigious music program where Petti studied Jazz, Pop, and Classical music.

Pettis credits his current music style to his years of studying various genres of music along with his many musical influences such as: Israel Houghton, Kevin Bond, Herbie Hancock, Donald Lawrence, and the Yellow Jackets, amongst countless others.

Brian has played alongside some of gospel's biggest names. It's Pettis' emerging sound that is gathering the most attention in both the Charlotte, NC and Chicago land areas. Described as having an original, inventive, and exciting style and sound; Brian succesfully blends his love for both gospel music and fusion jazz. Pettis has formed a creative atmosphere where singers and band are equal contributors. This uniquely collaborative style has birthed some truly original music that he hopes to inspire audiences both national and internationally.
