Bomi Tunstall

Bomi Tunstall is a pianist with a well-rounded background in performance, pedagogy, and chamber music. She holds music degrees from Johns Hopkins University's Peabody Conservatory (DMA) and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (MM & BM). Bomi has also performed for renowned artists such as Leon Fleisher, Charles Rosen, Boris Berman, and Awadagin Pratt in masterclasses. Her accolades include major prizes from the 11th Biennial International Beethoven Sonata Competition, the Society of American Musicians Competition, the Chicago Piano Duo Competition, and the 23rd Krannert Debut Artists Competition, which resulted in her debut CD publication featuring works of Rachmaninov, Debussy, and Beethoven. In August 2021, Dr. Tunstall made Charlotte (NC) her new home and is currently on the music theory faculty at Queens University of Charlotte, serves as pianist for Opera Carolina, and teaches piano at Trinity Episcopal School. She is a frequent adjudicator for piano competitions and festivals in the Carolinas.
