TuxedoKat, also known as Katlyn Cornelius, is a dynamic artist and creative mentor specializing in the mesmerizing world of puddle painting. With a passion for unlocking creativity and fostering identity through self-expression, she has captivated audiences with her innovative approach to this unique art form.
Inspired by her enduring love for colors, TuxedoKat discovered her passion for puddle painting shortly before the COVID lockdown. Spending countless hours experimenting with various techniques, she found solace and purpose in navigating the medium's fluidity and unpredictability. This journey led her to master its techniques, creating vibrant, dynamic compositions that she shares in her weekly Monday 6:30pm workshops at High Branch Brewery in Concord.
As a seasoned artist and educator, TuxedoKat has dedicated herself to sharing her expertise with others, leading workshops and immersive experiences that empower individuals to unleash their creativity. Through hands-on guidance and encouragement, she invites participants to explore the endless possibilities of puddle painting, encouraging them to embrace spontaneity and intuition in their creative process.
Beyond the studio, TuxedoKat is deeply involved in the artistic community of Historic Concord, located just 30 minutes north of Charlotte. She is a proud member of Fulltime Funkytown, a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating creative opportunities for local community members. Through her involvement with Fulltime Funkytown, Cabarrus Arts Council and Concord at large, TuxedoKat is committed to nurturing a vibrant and inclusive creative ecosystem where artists of all backgrounds can thrive and collaborate.
